On the morning of January 19^th, Nederland High School received a threat via phone call to the front office. The NHS school resource officer had communication with the caller. NHS was immediately put on lockdown and the Nederland Police Department was contacted. The response was a joint effort between the Nederland Police Department, Port Neches Police Department, Groves Police Department, Jefferson County Sherriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety. The threat was determined to be non-credible and the lockdown has been lifted. At 11:00am Nederland High School will resume normal operating procedures. For the remainder of the day, there will be an increased law enforcement presence around the campus. As always, the safety of our faculty, students, and staff is our top priority. We appreciate the cooperation of our school community.
