The Alternative Education Program is operated at the Nederland Alternative Education School.  Secondary students who exhibit flagrant/habitual misconduct on their home campus who would be potential candidates for expulsion are eligible for participation.

The program offers an educationally sound alternative for these students.  Students placed in this program are able to continue their instructional program and while attending will receive individual and group counseling which focuses on the development of self-control and responsibility.  Students are placed for a period of not less than 10 days or more than a semester.

Parents:  Students should not be dropped off at the Alternative campus before 7:45 a.m. and should be picked up no later than 3:45 p.m. Staff duty assignments will begin and end at these times.  Students should report to the front of the building in the morning. Students dropped off or picked up before/after the stated times will not be properly supervised.  For the safety of your child, please make transportation arrangements.
